The latest news from BYD's Denza lineup is nothing short of impressive, as the new Denza Z9 and Z9GT models boast astonishing capabilities, including a remarkable electric range of up to 1,068 kilometers and an extraordinary power output that can reach up to 1,140 horsepower.
On February 10, 2026, regulatory filings in China unveiled these exciting specifications for the forthcoming Denza Z9 and Z9GT, revealing significant advancements in battery technology, driving range, and cutting-edge design features.
Both the Denza Z9 and its sporty counterpart, the Z9GT, will come with two battery choices: a 102.326 kWh pack and a larger 122.496 kWh option. The Denza Z9, when equipped with the 122.496 kWh battery, achieves an impressive CLTC range of 1,068 km, while the 102.326 kWh configuration still offers a commendable range of 905 km. For the Z9GT, the figures are slightly different; the 102.326 kWh option provides ranges of 820 km, 860 km, and 880 km, depending on the specific setup, while the larger battery allows it to extend its reach to between 1,002 km and 1,036 km.
In terms of performance, both models will feature various powertrain options. A single-motor version available for each delivers a robust output of 370 kW (or 496 hp). However, the Z9GT takes it a step further by offering a high-performance tri-motor variant, which includes motors rated at 230 kW (308 hp), 310 kW (416 hp), and another 310 kW (416 hp), culminating in a staggering total power output of 850 kW (1,140 hp).
Moreover, BYD is also developing a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) version of the Z9GT, which is set to incorporate a 63.82 kWh battery pack. This hybrid model is anticipated to achieve a WLTC pure electric range of 301 km and a CLTC pure electric range exceeding 400 km, showcasing its versatility in energy usage.
From a design perspective, the updated Denza Z9GT adheres to the brand’s signature “Elegant Stance” aesthetic. Among the noteworthy exterior upgrades is the repositioning of the lidar unit to the roof, now complemented by a distinctive “smart driving blue light.” The front end preserves the recognizable “Twin Star Crown” headlight design while introducing new 21-inch wheels engineered to minimize rolling resistance and noise.
At the rear, expect features like an active rear spoiler and a fixed roof spoiler, alongside a lower bumper that flaunts a multi-layered design for added visual intrigue.
As for dimensions, the Denza Z9GT spans 5,195 mm (or 5,180 mm) in length, 1,990 mm in width, and stands either 1,480 mm or 1,500 mm tall, all supported by a wheelbase measuring 3,125 mm. Inside the cabin, the Z9GT promises a luxurious experience with integrated sports seating and an enticing new “Lava Red” interior color option, as well as a fresh “Fjord Green” exterior paint option.
