Get ready for an out-of-this-world experience right here in Leicester! A unique arts trail is about to launch, and it's going to be out of this world!
Chas Bishop, the chief executive of the National Space Centre, is thrilled to be a part of this amazing project. He says, "Planet Parade is a celebration of Leicester's creativity, education, and community spirit, all rolled into one."
But here's where it gets exciting: this trail is designed to engage children and spark their interest in space science. By collaborating with local artists and schools, the organizers are creating an accessible and fun entry point into the wonders of space. Imagine the joy of seeing young minds tick off each planet location on their paper maps, exploring the city's hidden gems along the way!
And this is the part most people miss: Leicester has a proud space heritage, and this trail is a brilliant way to showcase it. From Jewry Wall to Leicester Cathedral, Haymarket Shopping Centre, Phoenix, Curve, and the Leicester Museum & Art Gallery, each location will feature a model planet, bringing the solar system to life right here on Earth.
The trail officially launches with a community celebration on March 30th. The fun starts with a parade from Leicester Cathedral to Haymarket Shopping Centre at 4:30 pm GMT.
So, are you ready to embark on this cosmic journey through Leicester? It's a unique blend of art, education, and community spirit.
