This annual event, celebrated on March 3rd, shines a spotlight on hearing-related challenges and emphasizes hearing care as a crucial global health priority. This year's theme, 'From Communities to Classrooms: Hearing Care for Every Child,' focuses on two critical aspects:
- Preventing Avoidable Childhood Hearing Loss: This involves raising awareness about the causes of hearing loss in children and promoting preventive measures to ensure a healthy start for all.
- Early Identification and Care for Ear and Hearing Problems: The campaign emphasizes the importance of early detection and appropriate treatment for children facing hearing challenges, ensuring they have access to the support they need.
Throughout the year, various stakeholders worldwide will organize activities to promote ear and hearing care, aligning with the campaign's theme. WHO, along with members of the World Hearing Forum (WHF), will play a pivotal role in capturing and showcasing these global efforts.
